Bangkok to Phitsanulok

You will be picked up at your hotel in Bangkok and drive to Kanchanaburi. On the way, you stop at a rural market that takes place along the railway tracks. Watch the hustle and bustle of the sellers here, especially when the train rushes past to the north. Then all traders quickly and skillfully pack up their belongings. Stroll through the market and taste some samples of local Thai cuisine.

Then you will be taken to the train station and drive along the famous Death Railway over the Kwai River to Kanchanaburi. In Kanchanaburi you will visit the well-known bridge over the Kwai River, which shows traces of World War II. Stroll along the historic streets of the Pak Preak municipality, which are lined with pretty shops. The houses were built during the reign of King Rama and radiate a very special charm. Once here, the transfer to your hotel takes place.

Nakhon Pathom is considered one of the oldest cities in Thailand. Once here, visit Phra Pathom Chedi, the largest stupa in the world. You will also visit Wat Bang Phra, the tattoo temple. With a little luck, you have the chance to have a chat with the tattoo master of the temple.

You leave Nakhon Pathom and visit a floating market in the region. Local delicacies, such as steamed fish and sticky rice, are offered for sale. Here you can buy your lunch today, which you will enjoy on board a longboat that will take you to Ayutthaya.

An exciting day with a ride in a tuk tuk and a boat awaits you today. You explore the ruins of the old capital of Thailand in style. Visit the Wat Yai Chaimongko l and Wat Mahathat temples. The latter houses a bodhi tree in whose roots the face of Buddha has been incorporated. Then you should take the opportunity to stroll through the market of Wat Phra Srisanphet. Not far away is the Muslim district, which you should not miss not only because of the architecture, but also because of the local delicacy, the cotton candy.

After the visit, we continue to Lopburi, a small town famous for the Phra Pang Sam Yod Temple, which is completely ruled by monkeys. Lunch is served in a local restaurant.

After lunch, continue to Phitsanulok, where you will visit Wat Mahathat, which is probably the most beautiful image of Buddha.
